Barbara Sasser

Barbara Sasser, 80, went to be with her Lord & Savior on Easter Sunday, April 12, 2020.

She was born October 1, 1939 in Sebring, FL to James & Grace Vanzant Howell. She attended etiquette school and modeling class. She was a cosmetologist and business owner. Mrs. Sasser also worked for the Shop-n-Go, Circle K, Allied Security and Home Health until the age 79.

She attended Graceville Bible College in 1988; reading and studying the Bible was her passion, as well as sewing, cooking and caring for others. She volunteered at the Fellowship Dining in Fort Meade for over 10 years. She served as the Assistant Chaplain for Women's prison ministry and Sunland Center in Gainesville. She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Fort Meade where she taught Sunday School, Vacation Bible School and worked with the singles ministry.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother; James Howell. She is survived by her son Jerry Sasser, Jr. & wife Sherri of Fort Wayne, IN, two daughters, Teresa True & husband Donnie and Susan Slay & husband Kenny both of Fort Meade, nine grandchildren; Craig Sasser & wife Jodi, Clay Sasser, Caitlyn Sasser, Dasha Sasser, Josh True & wife Jessyca, Rebecca Mathews & husband Howie, Kendrick Slay, Connor Slay and Chase, six great grandchildren; Grayson, Lilly, Harper, Reagan, Lindyn and Roman.

Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 15, 2020, at Evergreen Cemetery in Fort Meade, with Pastor Kenny Slay officiating. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Fort Meade building fund. Condolences to family at
