Bartow Takes Sole Possession of Second in Census Challenge

Last updated 6/3/2020 at 2:31pm

It appears as though Polk City has a lock on first place and won't let go. Week in and week out it remains lodged in first place during the 2020 Community Census Challenge, while other communities duke it out for second and third place, as well as in the lower registers.

At the onset, Bartow shared the lead with Polk City. However most weeks found --- and finds --- Bartow wrestling for either second or third place, although one week, although it dipped to fourth place one time.

Last week, Bartow shared second place with Auburndale. This week Bartow has edged it for sole possession of the number two spot.

Polk City: 64.0 percent

Bartow: 61.4 percent

Auburndale: 61.2 percent

As it has practically from the start, Lake Hamilton lags far behind, with only a 15.7 percent response rate. The next lowest, Dundee, far outpaces Lake Hamilton, with a 40.3 percent response rate.

Countywide, Polk has a 56.4 percent return rate versus the state rate of 57.9. The over U.S. rate is 60.4
