I Cannot Help But Wonder

Had I written this several days ago immediately following the funeral service for Ken Riley, this column would have a much different tone; an angrier one.
In the wake of the recent deaths of George Floyd and several other black Americans by law enforcement, as well as a suspected (literal) lynching, I am prompted to ponder whether we as a people will ever truly come together re: race relations, as following the Saturday, June 13 funeral, my hopes have been dampened. I wonder whether all the outrage expressed over the events of the past weeks has mainly been for show, that afterwards little...
