The church's circuit box was totally destroyed.

Community Christian Church, 820 W. Stuart St., was struck by lightning, which literally fried the building electrical system during a late afternoon thunderstorm Saturday.

As the storm raged, four Bartow Police cars and two Bartow Fire Department fire engine crews flee down South Broadway Avenue.

Fortunately, the damage was limited. The only damage to the building was its electrical system literally fried.

On Monday, Aug. 31, two crew members from Crown Electric replaced the electric box and rewired the building.
