Kiwanis Club Update - Week of 9/1

Last updated 9/3/2020 at 1:07pm

Greetings, Kiwanians,

Last Friday, we received updates from Tess, the president of Bartow Key Club, and our Lt. Gov. Terry Atchley on the current state of affairs for our local Kiwanis and Key Clubs. These are difficult times, but it's good to know our Division and our Key Clubs are in such capable hands.

Friday: We will be back at The Nest 160. Our very own James Clements, who, as you may know, also serves a Commissioner for the City of Bartow, will be our program and give us an update on what's going on in the City of Oaks and Azaleas. As a reminder the Zoom meeting will start at 12:15 p.m. so that our Zoomers don't have to watch the rest of us eat.

• Club this week will be at The Nest 160, 160 S. Wilson Ave. This used to be Twisted Pineapple's storefront before they moved, between the Cookie Jar and the Local. Kiwanians may park in the Guardian Ad Litem parking lot across the street. There is also street parking along Wilson and Summerlin. This venue is in contention for our permanent meeting location, so please let a board member know how you feel. The Board expects to make a decision on this before the end of the month.

• For those who have not heard, the Crickette Club has cancelled their Halloween Parade and Carnival.
